Class of Spring, ’68: Music Video

Class of Spring, ’68: Music Video

By popular demand (for both of you who asked) here is the music video that was created for the 20th reunion of the Wroxton College Class of Spring, 1968. The photos were taken during our semester overseas by various members of the class. The video was made in the pre-digital days, so the photos were not scanned. Instead the old slides and negatives were shot with a camcorder. Thus the image quality is poor. The music was what we were listening to at the time. Come to think of it, we’re still listening to this music.

    Howard,

Thanks so much for all you do to preserve this jewel of an experience that was for many of us, life-changing. I still feel as close to Wroxton and friends from our class as ever. Your skills and dedication to Wroxton are greatly appreciated. “There’s a new world somewhere, they call the promised land….”

I was doing some family history research and found the Wroxton Abbey website and class of ’68 videos. I am so very grateful that you have preserved these memories.
The photos of my brother George, that I had never seen before, are so wonderful. I have the brass rubbing hanging in my kitchen that George and Linnea are working on in one of the photos. Thank you Howard Goldbaum so very much.

      Hello. Linda,

I have several photos of George from our Wroxton days and post-Wroxton days that I would be glad to scan and send to you if you wish. Just send me your e-mail address.

      All the best,
      Steve Romanoff

This never gets old…not the pictures or the music. Thanks for keeping the spirit of the Fab 45 and us from fading away

It’s not hard watching it without a tear in my eye. It’s impossible. Thank you, Howard, for all you do to keep the memories of that magical time alive. (BTW, I believe those are tea bags hanging around David’s head at the Maypole festivities…does that make him the first “tea bagger”?

“Close the door, light the light,
    We’re staying home tonight,
Far away from the bustle and the bright city lights.
    Let them all fade away,
    Just leave us alone,
And we’ll live in a world of our own.

We’ll build a world of our own
    That no one else can share;
All our sorrows we’ll leave far behind us there,
And I know you will find
    There’ll be peace of mind
When we live in a world of our own.”

    – The Seekers

Howard – This brilliant work of Art wonderfully captures “the world of our own”.

    With gratitude and respect,

    Bob

Howard — Thanks for posting this! Even though I attended Wroxton a year later, it is so easy to relate to this video!

You have inspired me to do a video of our class photos… but first I’ve got to get the slides scanned.

Some things are timeless. I do not live in the past. But yes, I share athe tears. I am blessed with the Fab 45 and the ever changing and enriching relationship I have with you all. In the memory of Barb, the 9th North-Stracka Wroxton Scholar is at Wroxton this semester. Given our rich history as a class, how can we not respond to giving to the 45 to the third degree (Fab 45, 45th Anniversary, $45K) class gift so that future generations can benefit from “The Wroxton Experience?” I love you Howard for being you and for your talents!
