You’ve read Jane Austen’s novels; now, step into her world. This curated educational travel experience offers an unforgettable blend of intellectual exploration and period immersion, bringing Austen’s social environment and literature vividly to life.
 
Immerse yourself by day in the places that shaped her and her novels, including the opulent Royal Crescent in Austen’s beloved city of Bath.
We will also visit Lacock Abbey in Wiltshire, and her home in Hampshire.

As dusk settles, delightful Georgian-era music accompanies the elegant Regency Room ballroom dance lesson that fills your evening.

 

The program includes talks by faculty experts, ground transportation in England, all meals, and accommodations at Wroxton Abbey, a fully restored and modernized 17th century country manor house, now home to Wroxton College.

  • Day trip to the historic city of Bath, the city Jane Austen made her home and used as the setting for both Northanger Abbey and Persuasion, including a private guided walking tour visit to the Jane Austen Centre, followed by a specialty themed afternoon tea.

  • Day trip to Wiltshire to visit Lacock Abbey, and then onto the Jane Austen House Museum.

Wroxton Abbey, the home of Wroxton College, serves as a living classroom for this experience. It embodies centuries of changing taste in architecture and landscape, hosting literary, royal, and political visitors whose stories are key to understanding England’s sociopolitical evolution.

The 56-acre estate includes lakes, cascades, obelisks, and gardens created by prominent designers and gardeners. The estate also features several architectural “follies,” such as the Doric Temple and the Dovecote.

This program brings the literature of Jane Austen to life, immersing participants in her world through visits to the places that inspired her and the culture that surrounded her.
