Living at Wroxton College

Kings, Queens, Presidents and Prime Ministers have all stayed at Wroxton. You’re in good company!

Wroxton Abbey’s most illustrious  resident was Frederick, Lord North, England’s Prime Minister during the American Revolutionary War.

Wroxton Abbey
Wroxton Abbey, your college home, is a historic 17th-century Jacobean manor house.

Every bedroom at Wroxton is as individual as you are; most with en-suite facilities and sweeping views of the College grounds. Student bedrooms are located in the Abbey with additional rooms in the Carriage House. Furnishings include a bed, bed linen, towels, wardrobe, bulletin board, desk, desk chair, armchair, ensuite toilet, sink and shower, and access to washer and dryer facilities.
Choose to room on your own or with a roommate.

Wroxton Abbey retains its 17th century charm, complete with secret doors, but has been completely modernized. We have a games area, a laundry room, a computer room, wi-fi throughout, and a fully equipped gym.

Evan Shereshevsky, who attended Wroxton during the Spring Semester of 2025, wrote of the experience:

“The program offered an authentically British education, with engaging professors who brought their subjects to life, often incorporating the rich history of the UK into the curriculum. Living in a historic mansion added to the charm, creating a truly immersive environment. I made great friends, traveled to incredible places, and gained a deeper appreciation for British culture. From afternoon tea to trips to Oxford and London, every week brought new adventures. Wroxton isn’t just a semester abroad, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn, grow, and connect in a unique and enriching way.”

Stephen Romanoff still vividly recalls his semester at Wroxton more than fifty years ago.

“My time at Wroxton was a defining experience that ignited a love of travel and new cultures. The bond between my Wroxton classmates continues to this day, 57 years later. I have returned to Wroxton many times as a guest and with my own university students who hail it as the most memorable part of their college life.”

The Travel Programme is an important part of the Wroxton Experience. There are Academic Trips for specific classes, and optional Friday to Sunday excursions (including to Scotland and to France). We have a mid-semester Travel Break for venturing further into Great Britain or Ireland. Many go beyond: Italy, Spain and the Netherlands are three favourite destinations.
