Understanding the past can help us make sense of the present and help to shape our future. Where we have been explains where we are as a nation today. For Dr. Morris, history isn’t just about monarchs and great battles (although both are fascinating!) but why we have faith-based schools; why we have a National Health Service; our response to immigration and why we are a democracy. For Angela, grasping a subject or simply discovering a topic you never knew about before can be intellectually and emotionally rewarding.
