Alumni Spotlight: Personal Journeys and Collective Experience

When Joseph attended Wroxton in the Spring of 2016, he embraced the opportunity for personal and academic growth while being outside of the US for the first time in his life. He thrived while balancing the rigorous academics and weekend trips to new places. Joe felt like he had grown up and found himself during his semester at Wroxton, and it has held a special place in his heart ever since.

Katherine attended Wroxton in the Spring of 2020 for about six weeks before COVID sent her entire class home due to the pandemic. In her short time, she fell in love with the British culture, traveling, and most of all, Wroxton College. Since her time was cut short, she always felt like her Wroxton chapter was never completed and longed to return.

Flash forward to July of 2022, when Joseph and Katherine both jumped at the opportunity to go on the Wroxton Alumni getaway. Having never met before, they were excited to meet other Wroxton alumni, relive old times, and swap travel stories. It was the first night of the trip at a small pub in Banbury when Joe tried to buy himself a drink with some currency from his past travels in 2016. Little did he know that the British government had updated its currency in the meantime, and his money was no longer valid. Katherine was standing at the other end of the bar and offered to buy him a drink with the cash she had. Through some embarrassment, Joe struck up a conversation with her, feeling an instant spark. Over their week-long getaway, the two hit it off and continued to get to know each other back home in New Jersey.

Since 2022, the couple has continued to grow, trying new restaurants, bringing their family and friends together, and learning new hobbies. Their shared love for travel has kept them busy, visiting Colorado, Poland, the Netherlands, and many more places over the years. In December of 2024, Joseph proposed at the Rockefeller Tree in New York City, which Katherine joyfully accepted. They look forward to getting married in June of 2026 and spending their lives together creating memories and traveling, all thanks to Wroxton College.
